Imagine a world free from cardiovascular disease.
The American Heart Association (AHA) works hard to help people live healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease. The AHA relentlessly educates, researches, and runs public health programs to eliminate heart disease and stroke. Currently, they are striving to reach their 2020 goal of reducing deaths from heart related illnesses by 20%. Each year over 800,000 Americans are killed by heart disease, which means there is plenty of more work to be accomplished!
Furthermore, here at SSG, we want to help the AHA create a healthier and happier world. Which is why we are proud to announce that our team will be participating in this year’s “2016 Boston Heart Walk” on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
The Boston Heart Walk advocates for health, works to save lives, and is a wonderful way to raise money to fund cardiovascular research and education. Our SSG team is excited to do our part in meeting the Boston Heart Walk’s 2016 goal, as well as to help achieve the AHA’s overall mission.
This event is family friendly and everyone is welcome to participate. You can walk, run or come to support the SSG team! It takes place along the Charles River and starts at the DCR Hatch Shell. Festivities at the Shell begin at 9 AM and the Boston Heart Walk begins at 10:30 AM. If you bring the little ones, no worries, they’ve set up a 1, 3 and 6 mile course option, as well as an obstacle course. The Boston Heart Walk will take place rain or shine, so be sure to check the Weather Channel!
